Advertising has become an important issue with poker rooms now it seems. In my own country there were never really any poker room advertisements on television, but that has now changed. I have seen several advertisements for poker rooms in recent months, including Party Poker.

You could cite the fact that the economy of many countries is in decline as possible reasonings for the need to advertise more, but I feel that the more important issue is the number of poker rooms that have now opened online.

I suppose the business of running an online poker room must be a very profitable one, as so many have opened in the past few years, but they are in danger of flooding the market entirely I feel. This does explain the advertising though, and my guess would be that it is probably effective too. This is especially the case for sites which are visually very good such as PKR, but Party Poker can also attract many more players through advertisements in my opinion.

Party poker is one of the oldest poker rooms around and has had a very large following for a number of years.
I cannot say for certain, but it is my impression that this has begun to change more recently, perhaps for the reasons I stated above. There are perhaps other issues though. Party Poker seemed to take quite some time to move with the times when other poker room updated their sites with exciting new tournament types and promotions in my opinion. It is good to see them moving quickly to advertise on television now.

If Party Poker are seeing a fall in players, then they certainly have the experience to turn things around, and advertising the great poker room they offer, could be the best way forward.
