Fulltiltpoker.com - Waiting for Hands in Seven Card Stud

Posted by Royal Flush Poker @ 2:52 PM, Sunday Jun 1st, 2008

Fulltiltpoker.com brings you this great poker strategy guide. When it comes to Seven Card Stud there is always a temptation there for the less experienced player to chase half made hands, the whole nature of the game is that each players hand gradually reveals itself with each card dealt, and so the over optimistic player will always be lured into calling one more bet.

fulltiltpoker.com

Practice your 7 card stud strategy at fulltiltpoker.com and score a great new player deal.

On the whole this is a bad idea, even if you do happen to catch the right cards to beat strong open cards that your opponent has, it still isnt logical to chase these hands in the long run, unless the price is right to do so.

Having said this, in some circumstances, it can be the right thing to do, if you need one card for a flush and you still have two cards yet to be dealt, then it is worth staying in the hand to see at least one more card to try and make the flush. www.fulltiltpoker.com

You have to take into account of course that you are very likely to win the hand if you hit the flush, where as if you are chasing a set or a big two pair, then you can fold these hands for a lot smaller bet because you often won’t win the pot even if you make your fulltilt poker.com hand. As long as an opponents cards don’t give serious concern about a bigger flush or full house causing you problems, then you can invest a little money in drawing to these type of stronger hands.

As a general rule though, if your hand isn’t strong and someone raises, there may well be a few cards in the deck that can help you to win the pot, but most of the time it isn’t worth calling raises in the hope of hitting those cards. If you are getting all your fulltilt poker.com money or chips into a pot, try and make sure you are doing it when your hand is in front.

Poker Pro - Phil Laak

Posted by Royal Flush Poker @ 2:19 PM, Thursday May 15th, 2008

Poker Pro Phil Laak was born on September 8th 1972 in Ireland and now predominantly lives in California, although he spends a lot of time in Las Vegas too.

ladbrokes poker

He plays in a number of major live ladbrokes poker tournaments each year but he continues to be more of a cash game specialist despite having some success at the WPT in recent years.

He has made three final tables at the WPT, winning one title and finishing 6th place twice, he also has a 2nd place at the WSOP and has tournament earnings exceeding $1.2 million, so when I say he is more of a cash game player, it is clear that I do not mean he hasn’t won much at tournaments, but he certainly has the talent at his disposal to go further.

His poker pro nickname is the ‘Unabomber’ and was given to him due to his habit of tightening the drawstrings of his hooded top during big hands to just leave his sunglasses showing, this is one of a few interesting traits Phil shows whilst playing poker. He is dating actress and fellow poker professional Jennifer Tilly and has had a few television appearances himself, both in televised poker events and in a show called ‘I Bet You’. www.ladbrokespoker.com

Phil Laak has always been an intrueging character at the poker tables and excels at cash games although it would be easy to imagine him picking his first WSOP bracelet and maybe another WPT title too, over the next few years.

By playing and practicing at Ladbrokes Poker (ladbrokespoker.com) you too could be the next big poker pro!

Poker Pro - Mike Matusow

Posted by Royal Flush Poker @ 12:20 PM, Tuesday May 13th, 2008

Mike Matusow is a very interesting Poker Pro character and certainly one who is not averse to drawing attention to himself at the poker tables, he is nicknamed ‘The Mouth’ due to his habit of constantly talking whilst playing poker.

To the casual viewer he may perhaps come across as slightly arrogant but I don’t feel that this is the case really, I think Mike just enjoys winding his opponents up a little bit and engaging in some sparring of the verbal kind whilst the real poker battle is taking place on the felt.

Mike Matusow was born in Los Angeles in 1968 and it is well documented that he has always had a strong competitive streak and enjoyed many hobbies where he could compete with others.

It wasn’t until later though that he discovered poker, which quickly became his primary outlet for his need to compete and succeed against others. Mike spent some time working as a poker card dealer and used this to his advantage whilst developing his pkr.com game, going on to compete and win in local pkr.com tournaments, from there he continued to move up the ladder until eventually in 1997 he entered his first WSOP event in Omaha, Mike had a great tournament and finished 2nd place to the great Scotty Nguyen and his poker career has grown on from there.

Finishing second place in that poker event lead to Mike later winning two World Series bracelets for first place finishes in the following years and claiming the 2005 WSOP tournament of champions title too.

Mike Matusow also finished 9th place in the main poker pro event that year, and finished 6th in 2001, which, considering the size of the field of players, is an outstanding achievment so look out for Mike Matusow at major upcoming tournaments, and if you can’t see him anywhere, try listening out instead, and you might just have more luck.

www.pkr.com is second to none in terms of graphics and user experience. If you want to be a Poker Pro just like Mike Matusow, there is no better place to refine your skills than at pkr.com.

Poker Players - Scotty Nguyen

Posted by Royal Flush Poker @ 7:20 PM, Monday May 5th, 2008

Scotty Nguyen was born on October 28th 1962 in South Vietnam, he moved to America in 1974 and began earning his living as a card dealer there.  CLICK HERE to register as a new player at pokerstars.com and you could be just like Scotty and turn into a WSOP pro!

With this line of employment came the opportunity to watch good poker players in action, and Scotty paid close attention before beginning to try his hand at the game himself. After time spent honing his skills at smaller games, he moved up to bigger tables and before long, was supporting his family from his poker playing with relative ease, as his talent continued to grow.

It was only a matter of time before Scotty made the journey to the World Series and once he did, it didn’t take long for him to make his mark, as he went on to win the 1998 main event in what was one of pokers truly magic moments. After moving all in against his opponent Kevin McBride he declared ‘You call it’s gonna be all over baby’ which his opponent promptly did, losing to Scottys full house.

It took Scotty until 2006 however to win a WPT event and become one of only a handful of people to hold a WPT title as well as being a World Series main event winner, the 2007 main event wasn’t far away from bringing Scotty his 2nd main event title too as he managed to finish in 11th place out of a field of over 6,000 players. For now however he will have to be happy with his 4 bracelets and tournament earnings estimated at over $7,000,000 which is an excellent poker career thus far by anyones standards.

Scotty still competes in many tournaments every year and so you can be sure that those previously mentioned figures will grow further still, as the charismatic, ever smiling Scotty Nguyen, continues to elevate his name to being amongst the all time greats of the game.

pokerstars.com review

Posted by Royal Flush Poker @ 4:37 PM, Monday Mar 31st, 2008

A good first point to make here would be one of the things that really makes www.pockerstars.com stand out for me, most online sites offer Omaha with hi/lo along with 7 Card Stud, of course Texas Holdem, and sometimes 5 Card Stud too, but most of the sites I have seen can’t match the variety of games on Pokerstar.com

pockerstars.com

Along with the usual games in abundance, they also have Razz, 5 Draw, 2-7 Triple Draw, and even their own HORSE tournaments too. This appeals to me in particular because I have gained a recent and growing interest in the game of ’Razz’ and have struggled to find a site which offers this game. The deposit bonuses and VIP loyalty systems in place are very good indeed, and the points a player accumulates can be spent on a range of different items in www.pockerstars.com online store too.

Also ongoing are tournaments with generous prizes such as seats in varied major poker tournaments around the globe, and some great freerolls to take advantage of too. pockerstars.com lists some distinguished players amongst it’s professional players such as Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem amongst others, and for good reason too.

With the attention to detail shown by www.pockerstars.com to create an exceptional online pocker experience, It’s no surprise that there are always plenty of players online. After reading through all the site has to offer, I must confess I have decided myself to join too, as they really do look like the best online poker has to offer. pockerstars.com

pockerstars.com sponsorships

Posted by Royal Flush Poker @ 3:24 PM, Wednesday Mar 26th, 2008

pockerstars.com is well known by most online poker players as being one of the most illustrious and popular places to play. With this in mind it stands to reason that the long list of poker professionals who are sponsored by, and endorse the site, should follow suit. pockerstars.com

pockerstars.com

Amongst these pockerstars.com players you will find main event World Series of Poker champions in, Chris Moneymaker (2003) , Greg Raymer (2004) , and Joe Hachem (2005), the players sponsored by pockerstars.com are not all main event champions of course but each have their own achievements and accolades within the world poker circuit and are excellent representatives of the site. Humberto Brenes, Isabelle Mercier, and a favourite of many players including myself, Daniel Negreanu, to name a few more. These players and a distinguished group of others sponsored by pockerstars.com can often be seen playing in, and being succesful in, major tournaments on different continents every year.

For the aspiring poker player it is an exciting prospect to think that by playing on Poker Stars they may end up playing poker against one of their heroes.

I for one would certainly like to meet daniel Negreanu at the tables one day, even though my chances of winning would be very slim at best. But it isn’t just this possibility that makes it an attractive prospect to play on such well supported poker sites, it gives a sense of reassurance too.

After all, if pockerstars.com is the place that some of the finest names in poker enjoy playing online, then I find myself feeling I would certainly be likely to enjoy playing my online poker there too. pockerstars.com

Posted by Royal Flush Poker @ 4:52 AM, Friday Apr 20th, 2007

Poker games.com are played ion land based casinos and on online casinos. The trend towards playing in online casinos has been a little higher at present. There are many advantages of playing in an online casino.

www.pokerstars.com

You can play your game with total concentration without the sound and smoke tat covers up the land based casinos. Gambling of any sorts demands your concentration level at its best specially the card games that are highly intuitive. So online playing could be more relaxed than playing in a land casino.

Moreover online casinos are the best place to practice your game of poker especially if you are a new player. You do not play for real money when you are practicing a game. You just learn the rules of the game better by just watching or playing at free poker sites.

In Land casino you start the real money game with real tension and excitement anticipating your win or loss every minute. But online casinos give you the freedom of betting very low amounts like 10 P. You play with low amounts learn the game and become more confident to hit jackpots of huge amounts.

Even an experienced player would admit that you learn more by watching and then by doing it. Online Casinos are the best places to watch others play just by logging on to the sites. You learn great moves just by watching these.

The 24/7 customer service online advantage will help you out of any problem you face while playing. The tutorials are great for advice on moves. Online casinos offer special offers, prizes and sign up bonuses. Moreover depositing money and transfer of funds are done by the click of a mouse.
